CTMP's professionals can undertake research in a number of mineral processing fields
The CTMP owns a variety of crushers, mills and sieves to design, study or revamp an existing design of a comminution circuit.
The CTMP can develop new or improve existing mineral dressing who necessitate mineral separation technologies such as: flotation, gravimetric separation, magnetic separation, hydro separation or air separation.
The chemistry laboratory is equipped with atomic absorption equipment which permits to do metal assay in a mineral sample for example. In our chemistry laboratory, assays on mineral samples are done using atomic absorption equipment.
Follows a short list of mineral processing projects that have been performed to date:
In order to improve flotation efficiency, the project team tested a number of wet and dry classification methods and set operating parameters optimizing the desliming process at various points during the crushing and grinding stages.
The final flowsheet included: crushing, grinding, magnetic and gravity separation. A ferro-chromium concentrate was also generated for further metallurgical testing
The objective of the project was to develop a quartzite purification process and produce a silica concentrate with specific chemical and physical properties.
