Micronization
In 2005, the CTMP purchased new equipments to generate, classify and characterize micro particles. These particles, as small as a micrometer, are used in industries such as: pulp and papers, rubber, plastics, paints, refractory, powder metallurgy, catalyst, fertilizer, etc.
The unit has the capacity to reduce and classify particles down to a micron. Other equipments, such as a BET for specific surface measurement and a Microtrac for particle size analysis, are also available
Follow some examples of projects performed using the micronizer:
- Grinding of concrete additives
- Milling and classification of mineral fillers for the pulp and papers industry
- Classification of a variety of mineral powders used as fillers in plastics
- Classifying a copper-gold ore in specific size classes
