Plastic matters and polymers are rarely used as is in finished product. Most of the time, many additives and fillers are included to modify properties and appearance: colorant, UV stabilizer, antioxidant, strengthening agent, fiber, etc. The development of these mixtures is referred to as formulation or compounding.
The CTMP has the expertise and equipment to generate such compounding. Using a twin screw extruder, polymers (new or recycled) or polymers with mineral fillers or additives can be blended to meet the needs and specifications of our customers.
To ensure homogeneity and cohesion of mixtures, compatibility agents are added. Reactive extrusion is used when chemical reactions are required, (generating a reactive surface, oxidation, grafting, etc.).
We can characterize the properties of the compound obtained in our laboratory. Deviation and gap in results from the original target could be corrected in an iterative process with compounding steps.
