Enrichment / Recycling / Valorization
The CTMP shows a great interest in the problems related to plastic reclaiming and recycling. With public and private partners, the Center develops research programs for polymer obtained from bioressources. For example, research has been done or is actually in progress on one of these subjects:
- Melt flow index modification of recycled PEHD with bio additives in order to use them in a wider range of applications
- Devulcanization of recycled rubber powder and formulation of new polymer by reactive extrusion with polyethylene
- Testing of new fillers from bioressources: recycled papers, wood fibers, etc.)
- Formulation and characterization of a polyhydroxybutyrate valerate (PHBV) produced on a laboratory basis
- Transformation of a recycled polystyrene to a HIPS polystyrene by addition of a recycled SBR
