Amongst other equipment, the CTMP has access to different project management tools, computer aided drafting and design software, flow simulation as well as metrology and dimensional control equipment. Via its partners, the Center has access to other lab equipments and various specialized tools.
On site polymer transformation equipment, characterization and control apparatus allows the Center to set up technological plateforms specifically adapted to the needs of our clients
For exemple :
- Using our twin screw extruder, it is possible to develop blends of polymers, mold by injection and simultaneously test standard specimens. In order to meet specifications, on site test results will confirm initial hypothesis or target factors requiring modifications during blending
- In order to detect manufacturing failures, testing can be performed on new molds. Computer aided drafting and design software as well as mold filling simulation can predict and avoid problems. Metal machining equipment can be used for minor modifications
- Upscaling and preproduction can be performed to validate a concept or to move on to an intermediate step between lab size testing and industrial production
